The Groton Dunstable Education Foundation (GDEF) is a volunteer, non-profit organization committed to enhancing the success of our public schools by funding grants for innovative, inspiring programs, materials and professional development opportunities that fall outside the normal school district operating budget.

GDEF grants span all curriculum areas and benefit staff and students at all 5 district schools- Boutwell, Swallow Union, Florence Roche, GD Middle School and GD High School.

We invite you to join our effort by attending our community-focused fundraising events, supporting our Annual Giving or Teaching Star campaigns, becoming a business sponsor, or by lending your time and talents in a volunteer capacity.

Together we can make a difference in our schools and our community!

Our Philosophy

We recognize that the ongoing success of our Foundation is dependent on the fact that 'our' is an inclusive term. The Groton Dunstable Education Foundation has grown out of and 'belongs to' the communities of Groton and Dunstable. In this spirit, we will work proactively to engage, involve, and include our communities' citizens, educators, organizations and businesses in our endeavors, including our planning and decision-making processes.

Partner-Centered Development

Each and every donor, regardless of time, item or amount invested, is considered a partner in working toward our goal of creating a 'boost toward excellence' for our children and educators. Our Donor-Partners are the core assets of our organization. We recognize that each time we engage a Donor-Partner, they are choosing to work with us toward our stated mission. In turn, we have the responsibility of proactive stewardship of our ongoing relationship, as well as the responsibility to ensure that each of our Donor-Partners' expectations regarding their giving experience are not just met, but exceeded.

Business-Driven Results

To be sure the Foundation is engaging in efforts that are helping the Foundation, our Donor-Partners, and our grant recipients to achieve our common and respective goals, we will conduct a cost-benefit analysis for every fundraising event, grant disbursement, and any other financial decision
we undertake.
