What does it take to inspire a child to learn? Sometimes, it’s an outdoor learning kit that turns a science lesson into an adventure. For another, it’s a character assembly that builds the confidence to stand up to bullying. For a high schooler, it’s the sponsorship that makes a world-changing robotics project possible.

These are the moments the Groton-Dunstable Education Foundation (GDEF) creates for students in our district.

​

For over 20 years, the GDEF, a volunteer-run nonprofit organization dedicated to enriching the educational experience for every student in our public schools, has proudly invested over $720,000 in grants to our schools through hundreds of innovative and engaging programs and opportunities that go beyond the scope of the regular school budget. We believe every child deserves an exceptional education, and that strong, well-supported schools are essential to the success of the Groton and Dunstable communities.

Your Impact in Action

Thanks to donors like you, last academic year, GDEF awarded 21 grants totaling over $20,000, supporting creative and impactful projects and experiences across all five schools, including:

• Sensory Pathways at Boutwell

• Character Education Assembly on Bullying & Cyberbullying at Swallow Union

• Outdoor Learning Kits for Florence Roche

• iPads and Math Tutorial Software at the Middle School

• Sponsorships, including Robotomies, Tour of the World, and DECA at the High School

• Calm Corner Pilot District-Wide.
