This technological innovation gives teachers immediate feedback on student compre-
hension, with the goal of increasing student attention, participation, and motivation as students use remote keypads to answer questions in class

Turning Points Professional
Development Program:
Second year of staff and faculty training centered on implementing “best” middle school education practices via an education reform model focused on improving
student learning.

“This funding will allow us to bring in Turning Points coaches who will offer our staff quality professional development focused on the specific needs of staff and students. This will facilitate the enhancement of our middle school philosophy.”

“Chariot of the Sun” (Grade 6):
A dynamic, live presentation of the stories of ancient Greece, reinforcing the 6th grade Greek mythology curriculum.

Author Visit & Presentation: Engaged 6th grade students in the publishing process.

“Motivating middle school students to read and write in a world with so many distractions can be particularly dfficult…Ms. Wooding’s Author Visit and Presentation helped them understand the process of developing fictional pieces for authentic purposes.”

Weather Bug Achieve Program: Allows students to track real-time weather data in support of Math, Science, Geography and Technology curricula.

Middle School North Mural Project: Students worked with professional artist and teacher Sharon Wooding to create an amazing permanent mural in the entrance of the Middle School North building.
