Teaching Stars

When you honor a favorite educator
with a donation to the Groton Dunstable Education Foundation's
“Teaching Stars” Program,
We all benefit!

The Teaching Stars program is
the perfect way to honor
that special educator
who has made a difference
in our children's education and our schools!

The Principal
Who keeps your school
running smoothly every day!

The Coach
Who helps you go that extra mile!

The Music Teacher
Who made sure you were
all tuned up for the big concert!

The Specialist
Who helps you be
the best "you" possible!

The Nurse
Who soothes those
playground bumps & bruises!

The Bus Driver
Who gets you safely to school
and then back home again every day!

The Guidance Counselor
Who made the college application
process a breeze!

The "Lunch Lady"
Who sneaks you that extra spoonful
of your favorite food!

And of course,

The Teacher
      Whose enthusiasm for teaching
      inspires your excitement for learning!

We are lucky in the communities of Groton and Dunstable
to have many outstanding teachers and educators
who teach our children every day, in many ways.
Not just teachers, but administrators, coaches, support staff,
specialists, volunteers and more - all of these people
help contribute to the development of our children
as students and as human beings.

These dedicated and talented teachers and educators truly do
help our children “Reach for the Stars!”
Show them they are appreciated with a donation
to the Groton Dunstable Education Foundation’s
Teaching Stars   Program!

We’ll send that special educator  a personalized letter of recognition,
honoring them as one of our communities’ stars!

And the money you donate will be put to work enhancing
the quality of public education in our communities through grants
for innovative classroom programs and professional development -

thanks to your generous support of our mission!

Who can give?

Anyone who wants to honor a special educator!

Parents - in honor of the educator who helped your child reach a milestone!
Students & former students - in honor of that special teacher who made a difference!
Teachers & educators - in honor of the colleagues who inspire them!
Any community member - who cares about our children’s education!

When can I give?

Any time! Or for any special occasion, such as:

Graduation - from Elementary School, Middle School or High School
A special performance - concert, play, presentation . . .
The “big game” - sports championships, MVP awards, personal “bests” . . .
Special honors or awards - National Honor Society induction, winning the spelling bee,
Chess Club championship, receiving a scholarship, college acceptance . . .
“Just because” - to show our teachers how we appreciate their commitment
            to our children’s education!

Who benefits and why?

WE ALL DO!

Teachers benefit  because monies donated are available to them through GDEF grants
for exciting classroom programs and professional development (click here to see recently
awarded grants
) - not to mention the satisfaction of being recognized as a “Teaching Star”
for excellence in their profession!

Students benefit  because inspired teachers make inspiring teachers!

And we all benefit  because better-educated students make our communities and
the world a better place!

What amount can I give?

Any amount!  From $5 to $5,000 (or more!) - every little bit helps GDEF in our mission
to enhance the quality of public education in our communities.  The amount of your donation
is confidential, and you can also choose to have your donation be anonymous.

How do I give?

The easiest way to make a donation is by credit card on-line!

Donations are processed by Network for Good, a charitable donation portal that
enables you to search and donate to more than 1 million charities online. Your donation
is safe, secure, and private, and helps support the issues and causes you care most about!

Minimum credit card donation is $10.00.

When you donate through Network for Good, you will be given a number of options:

Donation Preference   Select a one-time donation, or a recurring donation.
Make a large donation and split it up over several months!

Privacy Preference   You can choose to have your name and/or email address kept off your donation by selecting the appropriate option.
Note: If you do not include your name, we will be unable to include it in the acknowledgement letter to the Teaching Star.

Designation   For a Teaching Stars donation, enter  "Teaching Stars" here.

Dedication   Enter the Teaching Star's name here, and a very brief description of  why you are honoring that person.

If you would like more space for your dedication, please print out a form using one of the links below and send it to us at the address on the form.   Check the "Donated by credit card" option on the form so we'll know your actual donation has already been made on-line.

Donate to
Network for Good
At the bottom of the page where you enter your credit card number, you must choose an option for the 4.75% processing fee that allows Network for Good to continue to provide services to other non-profit organizations like GDEF.

- You may choose to have the 4.75% fee added to your donation.  E.g., a $100 donation will actually result in a charge of $104.75 to your credit card,  with $100 going to GDEF and $4.75 going to NFG.  (The entire amount of $104.75 is tax-deductible.)

- You may choose to have the 4.75% fee deducted from your total donation.  E.g., a $100 donation will result in a charge of $100.00 to your credit card,  with $95.25 going to GDEF and $4.75 going to NFG.  (The entire amount of $100.00 is tax-deductible.)

Click here to donate by credit card!

(Note that because your donations are being processed by Network for Good,
the charge on your credit card statement will list Network for Good instead of GDEF.)

You can also donate by check!
