Our Fall
2006 fundraiser

took place on Friday, October 20, 2006
at the Groton-Dunstable
Performing Arts Center
 |
|
The
evening offered fast-paced, breathtaking
entertainment
for the whole family, beginning with a
spectacular laser light show . . .

. . .
presented by Prismatic Magic . . .

. .
. and featuring
foot-stomping music showcasing
American Pride!
The illusions continued with mind-bending Las Vegas-style magic,
featuring the sleight-of-hand and comedic talents
of Steve Kradolfer & David Oliver.

After the show, everyone headed to our “Cosmic Café”
for a complimentary dessert and beverage buffet,
generously donated by
4C Food Products,

Currier & Chives of
Maynard,

Edible
Arrangements of Westford,

and our
wonderful GDEF volunteer bakers!

|
In
keeping with the Foundation’s mission of enhancing education,
during the school day Middle School students were treated to
a preview of the evening’s laser show when Prismatic Magic presents
scientific demonstrations of what lasers are and how they work.
|
 |
|
Students learned that “laser” is really
an acronym for “Light Amplification by
Stimulated Emission of Radiation”,
enjoyed some jaw-dropping laser demonstrations
during an educational presentation and
preview laser light show, and then had
the opportunity to ask questions! |
|
This
presentation was made
possible due to the generosity of
the Groton Commissioners of Trust,
who provided a grant to fund
this educational experience for our children!
