Groton Dunstable Education Foundation

Ticket sales for Groton Dunstable Education Foundation’s first major fundraiser exceed expectations!

Exceeding goals and all initial expectations, the Groton Dunstable Education Foundation is proud to announce that the communities of Groton and Dunstable, among others, have come out in force to attend their October 10th event and support the Education Foundation. In our very first discussions, we were talking about how great it would be to have a wonderful evening event with 150 or so attendees.  We are now charging toward a spectacular evening of antiques, innovative auction items, and dancing with over 500 guests and items from over 300 donors - all partners in helping our children reach for the stars.  Says ticket committee chair Kim Terwilliger of Dunstable, “When I held my first ticket committee meeting two months ago we talked about what kind of support we could expect from our communities and although we were hopeful we would receive strong support from both Groton and Dunstable residents, we never imagined we would exceed the 500 ticket mark.”

The important message sent by this show of support from the communities is not lost on GDEF Communications Director Kimberly Flanagan who says, “It’s wonderful that Groton and Dunstable residents are showing their strong support for education by their attendance at this event.”

Silent and live auction items continue to pour in. Beth Falkner of Dunstable, donor committee chair says,  “The response from local businesses has been outstanding to say the least.  Due to the excitement around this community event we are now even receiving unsolicited donations.” Please visit www.gdefinc.org to see an updated list of donations.

As ticket sales are wrapping up, thoughts are turning to the logistics of running the evening’s festivities.  Watch for forthcoming information on parking, sign-in and checkout procedures and an auction program.  We are looking forward to this exciting event!
