Media Release Excitement Builds as October 8th Groton Dunstable Education Foundation’s Gala Event Draws Near! With less than two weeks to go before the GDEF’s 2nd Antique Preview Party, Auction and Dance takes place under tents in the meadow at Jos. Kilbridge Antiques in Groton, ticket sales are winding down this week and programs are being mailed to attendees. When your program arrives, be sure to read through the exciting auction items up for grabs in the silent and live auctions. If you haven’t yet purchased your ticket, please stop by Jos. Kilbridge Antiques at 134 Main Street in Groton through the end of the weekend or call Sharon Schmidt at 978.649.6843 or Janet Sheffield at 978.448.5591. There is something for everyone at this event. You can enjoy a hors d’oeuvres reception and desserts, antiques, music throughout the evening from a classical music trio from Indian Hill Music Center and the Indian Hill Big Band and the key fundraising event of the evening - an exciting silent and live auction. Attendees will also have the exclusive opportunity to preview antiques the night before the fabulous Groton Antiques Show being held at Jos. Kilbridge Antiques on Saturday, October 9th. Your auction program will gain you free admittance to this event the next day. Diverse community members will be attending this event including parents of children in the Groton Dunstable Regional School District, school administrators and teachers, local and state officials, antique lovers, auction enthusiasts, donors and members of the local business communities, music lovers and more. Senator Steven Panagiotakos will be stopping in at some point to show his support for the work of the Groton Dunstable Education Foundation whose mission is to provide private funding for innovative, inspiring programs and opportunities for the students in the GDRSD. Visit our website at www.gdefinc.org to see a complete listing of grants awarded this past year. Our Fall 2004 grant cycle is currently open and grant applications are being accepted through November 1, 2004. Proceeds from the October 8th Antique Preview Party, Auction and Dance will fund our 2004/2005 grant cycles.
