Groton Dunstable Education Foundation

GDEF Opens Fifth Grant Cycle for Fall 2005

Groton Dunstable Education Foundation (GDEF) President Kristen Stone announced the Foundation’s fifth grant cycle at this week’s School Committee meeting.  Ms. Stone introduced newly elected GDEF Vice President Bobbie Lamont, noting that Ms. Lamont will be responsible for communicating with the Committee about Foundation activities.  Ms. Lamont said that grant applications will be accepted until November 1st. Grant awards and recipients will be announced at the December 7th School Committee meeting.

The GDEF will consider applications for any grant program or professional development experience that will enrich the quality of education in Groton and Dunstable’s publicly funded schools.  While the Foundation's vision focuses on academic- and arts-oriented initiatives, any program which seeks to engage a student's curiosity, encourages a lifelong love of learning and desire to strive for excellence, and embraces the overall development of the student will be considered.

Any questions regarding grant applications may be directed to Grant Co-Directors Karen Riggert, Kriggert@gdefinc.org, or Kim Flanagan, Kflanagan@gdefinc.org.
