Media Release Auction Programs in the Mail as October 8th Groton Dunstable Education Foundation Gala Event Draws Near Auction programs have been mailed to ticket holders and volunteers are busily preparing for the festivities planned for October 8th under tents in the meadow at 134 Main Street in Groton. For the second year in a row, Jos. Kilbridge Antiques is generously hosting the Groton Dunstable Education Foundation’s major fundraiser of the year. Proceeds from this event will fund the GDEF’s 2004/2005 grant cycles, one of which is underway now. Grant applications for the Fall 2004 cycle are being accepted through November 1, 2004. Please read through your auction program which includes all the details of the evening, from the schedule of events to descriptions of the exciting auction items available for you to bid on in the silent and live auctions. Some things to think about while you’re browsing through your program: • Mark the items you’re interested in so you can bid efficiently! You will receive a map on the night of the event that indicates where auction items, grouped by category, are located. • Coordinate with family or friends to bid on some of the group-oriented items. • Please read over the Auction Guidelines and payment information carefully so you’ll know what to expect. Please plan to pay by check so we can avoid paying credit card fees. We prefer to give those funds to programs that benefit our students. • If you’d like more information on an item, a Google search will usually yield a donor’s website if they have one. If not, feel free to contact GDEF at info@gdefinc.org and we’ll fill you in. • Bring your Auction Program with you on the 8th! It contains your exclusive bidder number and having it will speed up your check-in considerably. If you did not receive an Auction Program in the mail you will receive one at registration/check-in. • Plan on arriving early. Doors open at 6 p.m. sharp! • Remember, any purchase made from any of the Groton Antiques Show dealers on Friday night allows you to participate in the Jos. Kilbridge Antiques Sweepstakes to win a 5-piece farmhouse dining set. The drawing will take place during the Antiques Show at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. You must be present to win. • Hang onto your Auction Program which will gain you free admittance the following day at the fabulous Groton Antiques Show held at Jos. Kilbridge Antiques. Parking will be available at the following locations as well as along Main Street. The GDEF thanks the following businesses for allowing us to use their parking facilities the night of the 8th: Lot #1: Nashoba Vision Associates, 140 Main Street, Lot #2: Moison ACE Hardware, 143 Main Street, Lot #3: Prescott School, 145 Main Street, Lot #4: First Parish Unitarian Church, 1 Powderhouse Road, Lot #5: Lawrence Academy, Powderhouse Road, Lot #6: Lawrence Academy, Powderhouse Road, Lot #7: The Groton Public Library, 99 Main Street, Lot #8: Fleet National Bank, 167 Main Street, Lot #9: Town Hall, 173 Main Street, Lot #10: Citizens Bank, 163 Main Street.
