Media Release GDEF Now Accepting Donations On-Line
In preparation for the launch of their Annual Giving Campaign next month, the Groton Dunstable Education Foundation is pleased to announce that they are now accepting general donations by credit card on-line through their website at www.gdefinc.org. Donations will be processed through the non-profit charity oganization Network for Good, a charitable donation portal that enables donors to search and donate to more than 1 million charities online. Donations are safe, secure, and private, and will help GDEF in their mission to provide innovative programs in our public schools. Says Kim Terwilliger, one of the chairs of the upcoming Annual Giving Campaign, “We are so pleased to be working with Network for Good. Many of our donors have expressed an interest in the convenience of donating by credit card, and Network for Good provides a simple, economical way for non-profit organizations such as ours to easily accept credit card donations on-line.” To give on-line, donors can simply visit GDEF’s website at www.gdefinc.org and click on the Contributions star. Once on the Contributions page, clicking on the link to donate by credit card will automatically link donors to Network for Good’s secure site to complete their donations. For those who would prefer to give by check, the Contributions page also lists other options for donating. Those interested in honoring someone through GDEF’s “Teaching Stars” program can also use this service by visiting the Teaching Stars page. Proceeds from donations will be used to fund GDEF’s upcoming grant cycles. To date, GDEF has funded forty-nine grants totaling more than $86,000. Grants have been implemented in every school in the District and have covered a broad range of disciplines, impacting every schoolchild in Groton and Dunstable. For a complete listing of grants already funded, visit www.gdefinc.org. GDEF is now accepting applications for the fall cycle, with applications due by November 1, 2005. Grants will be awarded the week of December 5, 2005. To print out a grant application, visit www.gdefinc.org.
