Media Release There’s Magic in the Air! GDEF Plans “Fun”raiser for November 1st Half Day Looking for something to do with your kids after school on the November 1st curriculum day? Join the Groton Dunstable Education Foundation, in cooperation with the Groton Dunstable Alliance for Youth’s Half-Day Initiative, for a fun-filled afternoon of magic, featuring acclaimed magician Scott Jameson! 'Magic by Scott Jameson' is not a magic show in the typical 'pull a rabbit out of a hat' sense. Designed with family audiences in mind, Scott's shows artfully combine magic and juggling with clever characterizations, physical skill, music, mime, storytelling, and plenty of audience participation. (Visit Scott’s website at www.scottjameson.com for more information on his spectacular shows!) The fun begins with lunch in the Middle School cafeteria - bring a brown bag lunch, or pre order pizza and drinks. Then the show begins, as Scott wows us with his innovative stage performance featuring theatrically presented magic and juggling. Complimentary cookies, juice and coffee will be served following the show. Tickets are only $3.00 in advance and $5.00 at the door, with a maximum of $20.00 per family. Watch your child’s backpack folder for a flyer with complete details and an order form for tickets and pizza, or visit www.gdefinc.org! All proceeds from this event will help to fund our fall grant cycle. To date, GDEF has funded forty-nine grants totaling more than $86,000. Grants have been implemented in every school in the District and have covered a broad range of disciplines, impacting every schoolchild in Groton and Dunstable. For a complete listing of grants already funded, visit www.gdefinc.org. GDEF is now accepting applications for the fall cycle, with applications due by November 1, 2005. Grants will be awarded the week of December 5, 2005. To print out a grant application, visit www.gdefinc.org.
