The Groton Dunstable Education Foundation Announces The Second Annual Antique Preview Party, Auction and Dance!

Save the Date! The GDEF’s 2nd Annual Antique Preview Party will be held on Friday evening, October 8th, from 6:00 – 11:00 p.m. Jos. Kilbridge Antiques has generously offered to host this special event for the second year in a row.  The evening will include:

• An Exclusive Preview & Sale for the Groton Antiques Show (being held on October 9th)
• An Hors d’oeuvres Reception with Music by a Trio from Indian Hill
• Silent and Live Auctions
• Dancing and Dessert to the Tunes of the Indian Hill Big Band

If you were one of the over 600 attendees at last year’s elegant event, you should shortly be receiving a postcard allowing you to save $5 off the $35 purchase price by buying your ticket no later than June 30, 2004.  If you didn’t attend last year’s preview party, but would like to take advantage of the advance purchase discount, please visit our website at www.gdefinc.org and click on Events.  You will be able to download an order form and mail in your payment. Please note that we will not be sending out tickets but purchasers will be mailed an auction program one week before the event.  If you have any questions, please send an email to info@gdefinc.org.

The GDEF is also pleased to announce that Groton resident Janet Sheffield was recently appointed as Co-Director of Fundraising for this non-profit organization.  Janet has been and will continue to be an active and contributing volunteer for the Groton Dunstable Regional School District and has already been working diligently on behalf of the Ed Foundation, running the Teaching Star Program.  Janet says, "It's been very satisfying working on the Groton Dunstable Education Foundation’s Teaching Stars Program to recognize our outstanding educators.  I look forward to working with the talented, dedicated directors and volunteers of GDEF to raise grant money for innovative programs in our schools."  If community members have any questions for Janet, she can be reached at jsheffield@gdefinc.org.

GDEF Co-President Kristen Stone welcomes Janet to the Board of Directors and is looking forward to the Ed Foundation’s next major fundraiser in October.  “We hope that the communities of Groton and Dunstable will continue to support our volunteers’ efforts to raise funds that in turn go directly to programs for students of the GDRSD.  Just this year alone, GDEF funded programs have managed to give an added “boost” to thousands of public school students in our District!”
